Senior Sunrise

With the goal of inspiring and uniting seniors to finish high school strong by making an impact, the Senior Class officers hosted a Senior Sunrise event on the first day of school.

“I think Senior Sunrise is really significant and symbolic in our journey through public education, since we’ve spent so many years to make it to here, so Senior Sunrise marks the start of the end,” Class President Vishal Singh said.

Senior Sunrise rallied all seniors together at the football field for a morning of music, donuts, juice, inspiration, and balloon releasing.

“My favorite part about this event was definitely the balloon release. Everyone got a gold or black balloon, wrote their hopes, goals, and dreams for this year, and then we all met at the center of the football field to release them together,” Singh said.

With over 500 students in the Class of 2016, there was a huge audience to provide donuts, juice, and balloons for.

“I think one of the most important and greatest things about this event was that the Class of 2016 spent a grand total of zero dollars,” Singh said.”This would not have been possible without the support of Class of 2016 parents and the PTSA, since they all came together to donate everything.”

With such a successful turnout at the Senior Sunrise, the Senior Class officers plan to make Senior Sunset just as monumental at the end of the year.

“On behalf of the Senior Class, let me just say this: We’re gonna put the power of 2016 suns into [Senior Sunset],”Singh said.
