Halloween Memories
13 Days of Halloween, Day 10
Halloween is day full of spooks, parties, costumes, and kids going trick or treating, its a holiday that people of every age has a way of participating. So people are bound to have memories whether it be from last year or ten.
“I was tinker bell for four years in a row when I was little, so I actually thought I was a fairy. I broke my collar bone by falling off my bunk bead the same year I stopped being tinker bell because I just gave up hope.” senior Julia Cahalan said.
Not all the memories shared are from over ten years ago such as Cahalan’s but rather much more recent, and they sometimes it introduces new people in our lives.
“Last year I went to the Choir Halloween party, and its actually how I met my current girlfriend. So that was nice,” junior Ocean Wessler said.
Sometimes Halloween isn’t always fun, instead its a learning experience on where not to go or possibly finding out your allergic to your costume.
“Two years ago, I dressed up as Bonnie from Five Nights At Freddie’s and I covered myself in fake blood without knowing I was allergic to it and by the end of the night I was covered in hives.” sophomore Holly Bristow said. “On top of that half of the candy I had gotten had mold on it, and some of the other candy was already open. So that neighborhood was overall kinda sketch.”
Believe it or not, students aren’t the only ones with Halloween stories to share.
“I was probably about eight when my dad and I decided that we would do a home-made costume. So I decided that I wanted to go as Frankenstine. We bought a Frankenstine mask, and my dad found one of his really old grungy t-shirts and his old ripped jeans for me to wear.” art teacher Mrs. Lovelace said. “He blew up green balloons and put them under the shirt so that I looked liked this big monster. Then we just went trough the neighborhood and everyone was like ‘Oh my god, that’s so cool’. I could see that my dad was super proud too.”
Halloween is a time to make memories, whether they’re funny, a chance to learn something, or just a chance to see friends. Stay safe this Halloween and enjoy yourselves.
