State Fair of Texas– Sept. 29-Oct.22 

The State Fair is a fun celebration of Texas culture. Families and friends can gather to enjoy shows, thrills, petting zoos, games, crafts and fried food.

Six Flags Fright Fest– Sept. 26-Nov. 1

During spooky season, Six Flags turns its “day of fun” into a night of horror. Zombies, clowns and ghosts roam the arena scaring visitors, all while the park sets up multiple haunted in between rollercoaster rides.

($50 admission or $70 with haunted houses) Location: Arlington

Haunted Houses– month of October

Throughout the month of October zombies, ghouls, ghosts and scary figures set up to scare the bejesus out of someone.  Some haunted houses use fx makeups and lights that could trigger an unwanted reaction. Be cautious, do research and have a frightening-fun time.

Autumn at the Arboretum– Now – Nov. 25

Usually a visually pleasant sight, the arboretum is converted into a Fall Festival with buildings made of pumpkins and gourds. The arboretum plants thousands of orange, red and yellow flowers in an arrangement to make a beautiful scenery perfect for senior pictures, photographs and family portraits.

AMC and Cinemark– every Tuesday in October

This year, movie theaters across the United States are having “$5 movie ticket” days. This would be the perfect opportunity for friends and families to go see movies they’ve wanted to see for a while, or new thrillers that came out just in time for fall fright.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm and Maze– Sept. 29 – Oct. 31

Hall’s Pumpkin farm creates an old fashion fall celebration every year. Families celebrate the harvest by going to the farm and picking pumpkin, climbing hay bales and navigating corn stalks. They also have a ton of other fall rides and mazes to accompany the pumpkin-picking party.

Coffee Shops– September through November

Coffee shops are an excellent place to hang out with friends whether it be to study or to chill for a while. Often-times during the spooky season, shops will offer specialty drinks for a discounted price. Some favorites are White Rhino, ABC and the regulars- Starbucks or Dunkin’.

Coyote Drive In– September through November

Coyote Drive In is a large arena where guests can pull up to a large screen with a bunch of blankets and friends in the back of a car, and enjoy a movie in the chilly Texas autumn. They have tasty food and beverages to purchase at a reasonable price.

The Cow goes BOO!– October 31 5pm-7pm

During this Fall spooktacular, the Stockyards puts on multiple concerts, rodeos and crowd-enthusing shows. Everyone is encouraged to dress in their Halloween best and explore Historic Downtown Fort Worth for the night.

Pumpkin Party– weekends and spare time

Autumn is the perfect time to decorate the house, gather some loved ones and bake some fall-flavored food. Watching spooky movies and carving pumpkins with friends is the best way to spend a relaxing Texas night.
