Lakeview Retreat Hosts Senior Class Trip
With the senior field trip taking place April 17, permission slips and payment are due Friday to Ms. June in U-13 or Mrs. Boydstun in R-13.
This year, the senior trip will be hosted at Lakeview Retreat in Waxahachie during the school day. Students will meet in the cafeteria at 7:25 a.m. and will return to school by 2:55 p.m. Students will also take the bus to and from Lakeview.
Lakeview offers a variety of activities such as soccer, football, rock climbing, zip line, escape room, gaga ball and more.
Since the trip is a school sponsored event, students must still abide by school rules including reporting to the cafeteria by 7:25 a.m., following the Student Code of Conduct, following dress code and respecting the retreat’s rules.
The trip costs $28 and can be paid online. The cost covers lunch provided at the Lakeview dining hall. The food selection includes hamburger and grilled breast with fries, green beans and cookies. Any dietary restrictions can be listed on the QR code located in the permission form. Payment can be made at https://secure.payk12.com/school/Mansfield-HS/898/item/235733.
The dress code will be modified for the trip. Students are allowed to wear athletic shorts and wide-shoulder (three inch) tank tops without large armholes. If a student is sent to AC the morning of for a dress code violation, they will not be able to participate in the trip.
No one is required to attend the trip. Students who do not go will have to report to class and those who do go will get a school related absence, which does not affect exemptions.
In order to attend the trip, the permission flip must be signed, fully paid, have not been to BIC or AC in the spring semester and have passing grades for the fourth six weeks or regained eligibility during fifth six weeks progress reports.
Senior class sponsor and teacher Ms. June said the point of the field trip is to make memories and have one last outing as a class before graduating.
