As part of CADY’s lineup of on-campus photoshoots dubbed “roadshows,” seniors will be able to take their photos at Mansfield High School Saturday.
“It was really simple and easy taking the pictures,” senior Liam McClure said. “I went so I could go after school. They basically walked me through the entire process.”
There are two options in the fall for seniors having their photos taken for the yearbook: schedule a photoshoot session with CADY at their Grapevine location or have their photo taken at MHS during the limited on-campus opportunities.
“To be honest, I only know how it works at school and not in Grapevine,” McClure said. “Either way, it was really easy and didn’t take too much time.”
The CADY studio in Grapevine is roughly 45 minutes away from MHS. This distance would prevent some people from having their senior yearbook photos taken, as the time commitment and gas cost may not justify the visit. For this reason, CADY offered five “roadshow” opportunities on campus this year: July 24, Aug. 27, Sept. 28, Oct. 26 and Nov. 6.
“I think it’s important to get your senior photos taken because it’s a special opportunity you don’t want to miss out on,” yearbook assistant photo editor senior Holly Anderson said. “The senior photos are specialized, and their faces are even slightly larger. I think you should get your picture taken this year because it is such a big year.”
Senior photoshoot sessions that only include cap-and-gown photos and yearbook photos are free. However, there are varying tiers that CADY offers ranging from $30 to $300 that offer more photo scenes, editing and hair and makeup choices.
“I would suggest that seniors look into the ‘Most Popular’ session,” CADY representative Tiffani Womack said. “My nephew, who doesn’t like to take photos, did this and ended up having a blast. We got some great photos of him and his dog along with some in his football uniform. His mom ended up jumping in a photo with him and will cherish that photo forever.”
Along with this, CADY will be on campus for underclass photo retakes in the DLL during all lunches Oct 16. If an underclassman is not satisfied with the photos taken Sept. 11, they are strongly encouraged to attend the retakes.
“In terms of actual spreads, we add and remove pictures all the time,” Anderson said. “But usually after they are submitted for the deadline the photo is set in stone.”
Seniors have until Nov. 11 to have their photos taken for the yearbook. Yearbook staff will not include their photos for the people’s section after this date. However, CADY will still allow seniors to have their photos taken after this deadline.
“Graduating high school is a big deal and senior year is special,” Womack said. “Senior photos are all about you and they should reflect your personality, styles and accomplishments. Plus, they are fun to look back on when you’re older. I still have mine hanging up in my parents’ house.”
