This week’s teacher is Allison Foster. She is one of two French teachers in the district and also teaches AP European History.
Q: What high school did you attend?
A: Martin HS in Arlington
Q: What is your life motto?
A: “I just want everyone to be happy in life. If their life choices aren’t bothering you, leave them alone.”
Q: What was your favorite class or teacher when you were a student?
A: I didn’t really have a favorite class but my favorite teacher was my 3rd grade teacher, Mr. Saldivar.
Q: What led you to become a teacher?
A: I worked in the corporate world for Apple Computer in a cubicle working 50-60 hours a week making money for a big company. It wasn’t fulfilling. I wasn’t happy. I wanted to do something that actually made a difference for my community.
Q: What was your favorite TV show as a high school student?
A: Beverly Hills 90210
Q: Was there anything you would have changed or done differently during school?
A: I wish I had taken more difficult classes and challenged myself more.
Q: Any advice for students?
A: Education can change your life. It’s the great equalizer in society. You’ll get out of it whatever you put in. If you put a lot of effort in, you’ll get a lot in return.
