To celebrate midterms and winter break, Senior Crew will be hosting Senior SZN in the library on Monday

“It’s like a tradition that we’ve always done,” senior class president Ene Oodo said. “It’s just a way to get seniors out of their last B day, so they don’t just sit in class.”

If seniors exempt an exam on B day, they can go to the library for a block. Activities include pictures with Santa, hot chocolate and movies.

“For the past several years, this event has gone smoothly,” librarian Rebecca Buechele said. “It is a great way to celebrate the students who did their work, attended class, and did well in the classes.”

Seniors can only stay in the library for one block and the event will only happen on Monday.

“I get why it’s there but I have nothing to do all day,” senior Ryan Stahura said. “It’d be nice for me to see my friends that chose not to go to the party 8th block.”

A student must have an 80 or above and less than two absences to exempt an exam. The google form to request exemptions will close Sunday. Each student has three exemptions unless they take certain AP classes.

“A lot of seniors don’t really come that last week because they have their exemptions and their TCC,” student body president Makaria Walker said. “If you’re here, you kind of don’t want to be here. It’s just a way to have them do something nice instead.”
