The Tightwad Tiger: Value Tuesday
As a high school student with no job, it can be pretty difficult to be a baller on a budget when going to the movies is a $20 ordeal and eating at Chipotle is another $10. This week we will take a look at the most value day of the week – Tuesday.
Cinemark – Discount Day
Last summer I went to go see the Disney movie Inside Out at Cinemark, when I came across a poster advertising “Discount Day.” Unbeknownst to me, Cinemark had been selling discounted tickets on Tuesday’s for $5.25 for who knows how long. I used to go see movies on Sunday mornings because it was always less crowded and the matinee showing was pretty cheap, but this deal certainly takes the cake. To put in perspective, a Friday/Saturday night ticket will cost $10.50, but a Tuesday ticket is half the price.
Qdoba – 50% Student/Teacher Deal
Every Tuesday Qdoba offers a 50% off student/teacher discount on Tuesdays. Before I found out about this, I had never been a big proponent of Qdoba or Chipotle since both are kinda pricy; however, this deal is substantial. A typical burrito bowl and drink will run you about $10 at Chipotle, and closer to $12 at Qdoba; however, with the discount at Qdoba, you’re paying only $6.50 – $7. All you have to do is tell the cashier you’d like the Tuesday student deal, present your school ID, and then enjoy the value.
Rosa’s Cafe – Taco Tuesday
Rosa’s Taco Tuesday is well-known around the area and always seems to attract tons of people every week. For just $3.69, you can get three beef or chicken tacos, crispy or soft, plus rice and beans. This doesn’t provide as much variety as Qdoba does, but it is another good and cheap deal for Tex-Mex fast food.
So while you’re out and about this holiday break, take advantage of these sweet Tuesday deals! The next two Tuesday’s would be great days to go see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, or any of the new family Christmas movies!
